Slow, but very scary realization

So tonight I finally realized something. After figuring out our monthly income and realizing we don't have any extra money, I wondered where it went. Well, into the belly. Sadly we spend twice as much on food (mostly going out to eat) as we do on our monthly house payment. DAMN!! Now, please keep in mind, our house is very small and, for lack of a nicer word, cheap, but still. Better late than never, I have decided this needs to stop. I am working on a menu plan and shopping list for the week and hope to cut down drastically on eating out.
PLEASE, let me know some ideas for what to cook. If you would be comfortable sharing, give me an idea of a reasonable, healthy amount of money to spent per week on food for two people. Remember, one (not me so much) has a HUGE sweet tooth.

By the way...happy birthday to one person for sure and happy not your birthday yesterday but on Thursday. Hey, at least we are in finally in the right month :)

Can you tell it's late. WOW, bad typing.

What I meant to say is....

Happy Birthday to one friend, her birthday is today, honestly, it's today!! :)

And happy not birthday to another friend whose birthday was not yesterday, in April, or October, but on Thursday. :)

Now, we all want to know, what percentage of the monthly food budget went to a certain someone's M&M habit? :)

You could try my approach to cutting the food budget - just don't eat :) Yea, I know, that approach doesn't work for everyone.

Another fun thing to try is, if possible, re-reun the numbers seperating things out into 'real food' (i.e. main course foods) and non-essential foods like chips, pop, M&M's (sorry Jullius), etc.

Then ask yourself what is more pleasurable - eating those foods your body doesn't need, spending the money on other fun things, or a compromise between the two?

Man, I'm starting to sound like some anti-food freak.

Now, what makes you think we like chips, pop and M&Ms ;P
Good ideas, I will do that. Got a menu outline for the week and a shopping list, minus M&Ms.

Remember if you want to enjoy your other fun things, you need to eat. :)

You're good at this blog thing :) Big plans for tomorrow?! and how about the day after that :)
